I am an enthusiastic and engaging speaker. I often give my audience an opportunity to physically interact with mathematical art. Frequently my "lectures" feature breakout time for the audience to explore ideas together during the talk. In the spirit of illustrating mathematics, I always try to provide slides that deepen understanding through thoughtful visual representation.
Infrequently, I also give workshops. These have been on the topics of
making temari,
dyeing orbifolds using itajime shibori (joint with Bobby Stecher once), and
knitting (5 cast-ons and 5 cast-offs).
